Fire Divas' Quarterly Jewerly Challenge

Hellow fellow beaders and lovers of beads. The Fire Divas are hosting their next Jewelry Challenge! For this challenge, the theme is "The Holiday Season." There are many upcoming holidays in the next few months and any of them can be your inspiration for this challenge. There are a bunch of prizes (I'm offing a $20 gift certificate in my ArtFire shop).

All submissions must feature Fire Divas' lampwork. We require the name of the Fire Diva who made the beads used in the submitted piece, so if you submit something, please be ready to provide that information.

We will allow one submission per person per contest, and a maximum of two photos per submission. Entries may be submitted here (http://www.flickr.com/groups/firedivachallenge/) for approval, no later than October 15, 2010. Please include, in the comments section, the following:

Fire Divas reserve the right to approve or reject any submissions.

My name is Lara Lutrick and I have been making lampwork beads since 1997. While at a local arts and crafts fair, I saw and bought my first true artisan lampwork bead. The artist told me that there were classes at my local bead store. I took the class and was immediately hooked. Lampworking is my passion; it feeds my soul and my need to create.

This photo is my current favorite. This is an organic bead that uses glass with silver infused within it (Gaia) that reacts with the base of ivory to form a fun pattern around the green. This is my best example of my "Dragon Tears" series.
